I wrote a short story about a mortal woman who falls in love with Forneus, Marquis of Hell, and he falls in love with her. When he makes love to her it kills her, but he takes her spirit with him when he leaves the earth, makes her immortal. (This is one of the stories in "Wild Sprung Tales".)
