Meanwhile...

Meanwhile...
I love all creatures. I consider them, all of them, to be sentient beings... I write thrillers, fantasy, mysteries, gothic horror, romantic adventure, occult, Noir, westerns and various types of short stories. I also re-tell traditional folk tales and make old fairy tales carefully cracked. I'm often awake very early in the morning. A cuppa, and fifteen minutes later I'm usually writing something. ;)

Hmmm... Feral Housewives...

I think maybe this might be a pic of some feral housewives, --- below... 😠😛💖...

I LOVE trees...

Some people would cement the world over, if --- it would pay them to do so...

"THIS IS THE FOREST PRIMEVAL, THE MURRURING PINES AND THE HEMLOCKS, BEARDED IN MOSS AND IN GARMENTS GREEN, INDISTINCT IN THE TWILIGHT... STAND LIKE DRUIDS OF ELD, WITH VOICES SAD AND PROPHETIC..."

You must remember who you truly are (Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address)...

Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address
Greetings to the Natural World
The People
Today we have gathered and we see that the cycles of life continue. We have been given the duty to live in balance and harmony with each other and all living things. So now, we bring our minds together as one as we give greetings and thanks to each other as people.
Now our minds are one.
The Earth Mother
We are all thankful to our Mother, the Earth, for she gives us all that we need for life. She supports our feet as we walk about upon her. It gives us joy that she continues to care for us as she has from the beginning of time. To our mother, we send greetings and thanks.
Now our minds are one.
The Waters
We give thanks to all the waters of the world for quenching our thirst and providing us with strength. Water is life. We know its power in many forms- waterfalls and rain, mists and streams, rivers and oceans. With one mind, we send greetings and thanks to the spirit of Water.
Now our minds are one.
The Fish
We turn our minds to the all the Fish life in the water. They were instructed to cleanse and purify the water. They also give themselves to us as food. We are grateful that we can still find pure water. So, we turn now to the Fish and send our greetings and thanks.
Now our minds are one.
The Plants
Now we turn toward the vast fields of Plant life. As far as the eye can see, the Plants grow, working many wonders. They sustain many life forms. With our minds gathered together, we give thanks and look forward to seeing Plant life for many generations to come.
Now our minds are one.
The Food Plants
With one mind, we turn to honor and thank all the Food Plants we harvest from the garden. Since the beginning of time, the grains, vegetables, beans and berries have helped the people survive. Many other living things draw strength from them too. We gather all the Plant Foods together as one and send them a greeting of thanks.
Now our minds are one.
The Medicine Herbs
Now we turn to all the Medicine herbs of the world. From the beginning they were instructed to take away sickness. They are always waiting and ready to heal us. We are happy there are still among us those special few who remember how to use these plants for healing. With one mind, we send greetings and thanks to the Medicines and to the keepers of the Medicines.
Now our minds are one.
The Animals
We gather our minds together to send greetings and thanks to all the Animal life in the world. They have many things to teach us as people. We are honored by them when they give up their lives so we may use their bodies as food for our people. We see them near our homes and in the deep forests. We are glad they are still here and we hope that it will always be so.
Now our minds are one
The Trees
We now turn our thoughts to the Trees. The Earth has many families of Trees who have their own instructions and uses. Some provide us with shelter and shade, others with fruit, beauty and other useful things. Many people of the world use a Tree as a symbol of peace and strength. With one mind, we greet and thank the Tree life.
Now our minds are one.
The Birds
We put our minds together as one and thank all the Birds who move and fly about over our heads. The Creator gave them beautiful songs. Each day they remind us to enjoy and appreciate life. The Eagle was chosen to be their leader. To all the Birds-from the smallest to the largest-we send our joyful greetings and thanks.
Now our minds are one.
The Four Winds
We are all thankful to the powers we know as the Four Winds. We hear their voices in the moving air as they refresh us and purify the air we breathe. They help us to bring the change of seasons. From the four directions they come, bringing us messages and giving us strength. With one mind, we send our greetings and thanks to the Four Winds.
Now our minds are one.
The Thunderers
Now we turn to the west where our grandfathers, the Thunder Beings, live. With lightning and thundering voices, they bring with them the water that renews life. We are thankful that they keep those evil things made by Okwiseres underground. We bring our minds together as one to send greetings and thanks to our Grandfathers, the Thunderers.
Now our minds are one.
The Sun
We now send greetings and thanks to our eldest Brother, the Sun. Each day without fail he travels the sky from east to west, bringing the light of a new day. He is the source of all the fires of life. With one mind, we send greetings and thanks to our Brother, the Sun.
Now our minds are one.
Grandmother Moon
We put our minds together to give thanks to our oldest Grandmother, the Moon, who lights the night-time sky. She is the leader of woman all over the world, and she governs the movement of the ocean tides. By her changing face we measure time, and it is the Moon who watches over the arrival of children here on Earth. With one mind, we send greetings and thanks to our Grandmother, the Moon.
Now our minds are one.
The Stars
We give thanks to the Stars who are spread across the sky like jewelry. We see them in the night, helping the Moon to light the darkness and bringing dew to the gardens and growing things. When we travel at night, they guide us home. With our minds gathered together as one, we send greetings and thanks to the Stars.
Now our minds are one.
The Enlightened Teachers
We gather our minds to greet and thank the enlightened Teachers who have come to help throughout the ages. When we forget how to live in harmony, they remind us of the way we were instructed to live as people. With one mind, we send greetings and thanks to these caring teachers.
Now our minds are one.
The Creator
Now we turn our thoughts to the Creator, or Great Spirit, and send greetings and thanks for all the gifts of Creation. Everything we need to live a good life is here on this Mother Earth. For all the love that is still around us, we gather our minds together as one and send our choicest words of greetings and thanks to the Creator.
Now our minds are one.
Closing Words
We have now arrived at the place where we end our words. Of all the things we have named, it was not our intention to leave anything out. If something was forgotten, we leave it to each individual to send such greetings and thanks in their own way.
Now our minds are one.

I'm proud to be an American, but not for the usual reasons...

I'm proud that my brave and probably desperate ancestors came from France over 400 years ago as Huguenots, French Protestants, escaping religious persecution. (Huguenots were being burnt at the stake in 17th century France.)

I'm also proud that part of my family are Native Americans. And, I mean they're not just, perhaps, 1/8 Native American like most Americans mean when they say they have Native American blood. I mean they're 60% to 80% Cherokee of the Western Band and Chiricahua Apache of the Chiricahua Mountains of southern Arizona, near the New Mexico border. But, they don't talk about it much. They just are.

Chiricahua girl, in  native dress, vintage photo, of course. Quite a few of my family look like this girl.

Black Friday = Greed Day...

  NASTY...
One day, --- ONE DAY, after supposedly being very peaceful and joyful about whatever they are blessed to have, some folks are very excited to have more, more, even more, wild over $4.99 headphones and 1/2 price big screen T.V.s at Walmart.

(Walmart --- Nov, 26, 2921, 5 a.m. I don't know where in the U.S.A. she is, but from her accent I think it might be the deep South, perhaps, Georgia.)

This is interesting... It's nice and peaceful in this part of the store, of course, it's very early in the morning. Maybe, the furor doesn't happen till later. Naturally, I hope it doesn't happen at all... AND, this is NOT in the electronic section of the store.

This shopping, above, seems relatively safe... BUT, STILL, --- GET YOUR STUFF & GET OUT!!!... 😵😳😳😬😜😏😎😊

CAT v.s. Things that go bump in the night...

PYE-wacket!!!...

The Siamese cat who played Pyewacket in "Bell, Book & Candle" won a Patsy for his acting, which is the animal actor equivalent of a Oscar.

I LOVE this above graphic of "Pye"... 😻

Dorothy & The Tornado...

This scene from the 1939 "Wizard Of Oz" was so well done that it even stands up to CGI work of today.

Maggie Hamilton was fabulous as The Wicked Witch Of The West.

I will never live in Kansas, Iowa or Oklahoma. Or, live in a house without a basement. When the sky turns dark green I get spooked.

Dodos were only native to the isle of Mauritius...

...which was off the coast of Madagascar, the only place in the whole world where they were found. Most folks know that they were a big, clumsy

flightless bird, probably not smart either. (The word "Dodo" is Portuguese for "stupid".) Loss of habitat ruined them. Sailors and pirates also clubbed them to death, people partly causing their extinction in about the mid to late  1600s.

(In my novel "Pirate Heart," the main character Captain Will Burton, who went to sea at the age of 10, says he remembers seeing dodos on the isle of Mauritius when he traveled in that area, near exotic Madagascar. )

The extraordinary Simona Kissak, --- loved animals much more than people...

Simona Kossak (1943-2007) was a Polish biologist, and an uncompromising activist. ecologist, and author, with a PhD in forestry. She chatted with animals and had a terrorist crow who stole gold and attacked bicycle riders.

She spent more than 30 years in a house without electricity or running water in the Bialowieza Forest, --- the comfortable forester's lodge.

A lynx slept on her bed and a tamed boar lived with her too.

She produced award winning films. She fought for the protection of Europe's oldest forests and believed that one should live simply and close to nature. Among animals she found wisdom that she felt could never be found among humans.

Floki sailed across the sea and found (gasp!) ICELAND !!!...

In season 5 of "Vikings"... They didn't say it was Iceland, but I knew it was. Nowhere else on earth looks quite like that. And, they showed a smoking volcano and that stunning waterfall, -- of which there are many in Iceland. Floki said it was the abode of the Norse gods. (He may be right!!!)

Odin appears in Kattegat, from "Vikings"...

The raven is believed to be the eyes and ears of Odin...

Iceland has such a rugged beauty. I'm sure it's a harsh land, in many ways, but it's still exquisite. However, Floki was looking at the land with 👀 eyes of deluded love 💖 when he told others that it was a rich farmland, Actually, only about 22% of Iceland's land could be considered farmable. It's a volcanic island with much of the area covered with mossy turf or short grass over a few inches of dirt with rock underneath.

Oh, how I'd love to go there!!!... 💖💖💖💖💖 I'm in love with the country and I've never even seen it!!!

Floki discovers Iceland...

Floki talks with the gods in Iceland...

How did Floki discover Iceland???... (The real story of Floki, the boat builder, the video is in a Scandinavian language, I didn't understand a word of it, but I sort of get the general gist. 😏)...

Be kind and expect nothing in return... :D

DO EVERYTHING WITH A GOOD HEART AND EXPECT NOTHING IN RETURN AND YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED.

*********************

SOMETIMES, YOU MAY GET DISCOURAGED, FEELING THAT THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN A CRUEL WORLD, BUT STILL YOU WILL HAVE THE SATISFACTION THAT YOU DID THE RIGHT, KIND THING... AND, SOMEONE WILL BE SO GRATEFUL!!! I FIGURE YOU CAN'T SAVE EVERYONE, BUT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO YOU CAN SAVE SOME. AND, THAT WILL MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE FOR THAT ONE LOST SOUL THAT YOU HELPED, BE IT HUMAN OR ANIMAL. 💖

***PLEASE, please consider adopting a black cat...

THERE ARE SO MANY THAT NEED HOMES & THEY ARE USUALLY THE LAST ONES TO BE ADOPTED AND THE FIRST BE EUTHANIZED!!!... SO SAD, WHEN BLACK CATS ARE SO, SO SWEET, LOYAL, GORGEOUS, INTELLIGENT. MANY ARE VERY HEALTHY THEIR WHOLE LIVES AND MANY HARDLY SHED AT ALL.

LOVE A BEAUTIFUL BLACK CAT.... YOU WON'T BE SORRY. 💖💖💖 I PROMISE. =^-^=

It's not unmanly to have feelings...

Men are not accustomed, from childhood, to openly share their feelings, but denying the sensitivity of men is like saying the air is only for women and children. We are alive, and therefore, we feel. Leave the stereotypes in the past. --- Veronika Jensen.

Animals that are naturally very clean, with practicaly bo body odor at all...

Gisla & Rollo, --- one of "Vikings" sexiest couples...

In Frankia refined Parisian princess, Gisla, despised the huge Norse warrior Rollo, at first, thinking him a crude, barbaric oaf, violent and repulsive... He was the ENEMY, not even speaking her elegant language. But, she was forced to marry him, to unite the two former warring factions, --- in supposed peace.

Porrun, --- slave & warrior on "Vikings," is stunning & more on the series...

Porrun's sexy & wild dancing.

 Bjorm (pronounced "Bee-urn") & Porunn...

She is scarred in battle.

Ummm... Yeah. Historical  evaluation...

****************

Porrun was doing very well, as a freed woman and a newly trained shield maiden. Bjorn took her into battle when Porrun (pronounced "Thorun") joined the ships going to England, He  asked her to marry him and she accepted. However, she was injured during a fight, struck in the face with an ax. She survived, badly scarred; the experience ruined her emotionally, and she ran away from Bjorn and their newborn daughter. I missed her in the series. She didn't return, although I hoped she would.

What Kind Of Pets Did The Vikings Have???...
