According to Shakespeare, Oberon & Titania are the King and Queen of Faerieland, but that may not be so...
Are faeries REALLY REAL???... Well, the answer you'll get truly depends on who you ask. If you ask one of the relaxed "old folk," in the far back country of Ireland, you'll get a much different answer than you would if you asked a hurried average city dweller...
Of course, folklore says that the fey like wild, overgrown country places. They are drawn to nature, --- their natural dwelling place. They are also drawn to those of simple, warm, pure hearts and pleasures, to the honest, generous, kind and brave, to very young children, to true lovers, to artists of any type,--- including musicians and poets, to animals, to plants, --- of course, --- especially beautifully scented flowers, --- to roses, violets, lavender and rosemary, and to those who others may consider to be fools.
The faerie stone is fluorite. The faerie color is lavender, in lieu of that, --- any pastel. The best faerie times are the in-between times, --- when night turns to dawn, when day turns to dusk, at noon and at midnight. The faerie day is Friday. Faerie holidays are Midsummer's Eve, Midsummer's Day and, Beltane or May Day, --- the first of May.
Faeries are said to be very elusive and totally unpredictable. They are not forgiving and will wait forever to get creatively even. They hate misers, those who are greedy for anything, --- whether it is riches or fame, the unscrupulous and cruel, the ungenerous, the vain and haughty, slobs, the cynical, cheaters and the dishonest, --- in any way. And, of course, they absolutely despise the careless spoilers of our environment and of Mother Earth.
Of course, not all faeries are lovely and sweet.
The faeries (The"Seelie Court," or "The Good Faeries') who are mostly around from Beltane to Samhain (October 31st) are much sweeter than the faeries (The "Unseelie Court," or "The Bad Faeries") who are mostly around from October 31st to May 1st (Beltane).
Those who don't believe faeries exist will never, ever have a "faerie experience". Those who do will never forget it and may be believers for the rest of their lives!!!
If you are interested in learning more about sightings and the origin of the faeries, and faeries in our world and in their's, I'd recommend the small paperback book "Fairies: Real Encounters With The Little People," by Janet Bord. You can probably get it inexpensively on Amazon, or online at Thriftbooks, or you might get a copy on Ebay.
