A male lion can be very big, weighing 450 pounds. If you have ever seen one close up, you will know why they are called "The King Of Beasts". A male lion lets his females do most of the work, --- the hunting and rearing of cubs. Although, his Majesty is surprisingly gentle and tolerant with his offspring, allowing them to crawl all over him with little objection.
