Meanwhile...

Meanwhile...
I love all creatures. I consider them, all of them, to be sentient beings... I write thrillers, fantasy, mysteries, gothic horror, romantic adventure, occult, Noir, westerns and various types of short stories. I also re-tell traditional folk tales and make old fairy tales carefully cracked. I'm often awake very early in the morning. A cuppa, and fifteen minutes later I'm usually writing something. ;)

Floki & Helga, --- from "Vikings"...

Floki & Helga get married, --- how happy they are!

Floki & Helga at their marriage

It's obvious that Floki is more than a little strange. Actually, he's a heyoka, --- which is a Lakota (many people know them as the Sioux) word meaning "sacred fool" or "sacred mirror". A heyoka is a shaman, and the rarest type of empath. If you know anything about heyokas you would recognize him immediately as one. Floki, a talented boat builder and devoted to the gods, is my favorite character in the mini series, "Vikings".

Rafiki, from "The Lion King," is also a heyoka. To most people, heyokas can be very annoying, seeming, at times, to be absolute idiots, or at least extremely eccentric.  But, if you're humble, and willing to learn, you may discover they are talking rare truths, that they have deep insight. You may never forget your experience with a heyoka.

Many heyokas are backwards in life... For instance, maybe they were born breech, are dyslexic, are incredibly quick at some things, hopelessly slow at others. They often look years younger than their actual age, being perhaps, 80, but looking 50.

**************************************

Floki: "A warrior doesn't show his heart; it's revealed in battles."

Bjorn: "You're so wise, Floki."

Floki: "No, I'm only a joker."

--------

Floki: "I'm crazy and cracked."

--------

Floki : "The sound a fish makes when he breathes, the sound a cat makes when he moves...

King Horik: "The roots of a mountain.."

Floki: "You know!"

King Horik: "I'm interested in such things."
