What Is Haint Blue?...
"Haint" or haunt blue is a beautiful light blue color that the Gullah people of coastal South Carolina and Georgia used to paint on their ceilings, window frames and doors to keep negativity and evil spirits away.
It was originally made with indigo, which is poisonous, and lime, among other things, such as dragon's blood, a red resin from a special type of palm tree. Haint blue was also thought to repel bugs and spiders.
If you want to get haint blue today probably any good light blue house paint will do. And, you could mix some lime juice and dragon's blood in it, if you want!
