Meanwhile...

Meanwhile...
I love all creatures. I consider them, all of them, to be sentient beings... I write thrillers, fantasy, mysteries, gothic horror, romantic adventure, occult, Noir, westerns and various types of short stories. I also re-tell traditional folk tales and make old fairy tales carefully cracked. I'm often awake very early in the morning. A cuppa, and fifteen minutes later I'm usually writing something. ;)

Things A True Gentleman Does... (Believe it, or not, THEY DO EXIST!)

A TRUE GENTLEMAN PUTS MORE INTO THE WORLD THAN HE TAKES OUT... Being a gentleman goes far beyond good manners. It involves an inate sense of justice and dignity and is based, however corny it may sound to modern ears, on chivalry... Yes, chivalry, ~ the protecting of those who are physically weaker. Here are some things a true gentleman does: 1. Opens doors for women and the elderly, but, actually, he opens doors for anyone, and may even carry parcels. 2. Walks near the curb when he is walking with a woman, in theory, to protect her. 3. If a woman he is with is cold, he gives her his jacket, and is willing to endure a bit of temporary discomfort for her. 4. He pulls out her chair for her and pushes it comfortably closer to the table. He opens her car door and gives her his hand to help her out. 5. He offers her his arm when they are walking together, especially if the walkway is slippery or if she's wearing high heels. Women like to walk holding onto a kind gentleman's arm. 6. Speaking of kindness, it is a natural kindness that modivates a gentleman. He is a kind person, especially to those who need it most, ~ the helpless, the elderly, children, the needy in any way. 7. He says please and thank you, and he means it sincerely. 8. He treats everyone with respect, as he would want to be treated himself. 9. He doesn't kiss and tell. That's dishonorable. He doesn't gossip either. 10. He doesn't act crudely. He doesn't tell dirty jokes, or listen to them. He isn't afraid to stand out from men who like locker room humor because he's a confident adult. 11. He's a jack of all trades. He might be able to fix a car, but he also can cook, do laundry, sew on a button, and diaper a baby. No task that needs doing is below his masculinity. He's a Renaissance man, and women swoon over him because of it. 12. He doesn't hog attention. He listens to other people, even when they don't make much sense, he gives them space to talk. 13. He reads books for pleasure and he listens to good music. He appreciates art. 14. He's honest, but tactful. 15. He won't hit a woman, unless in extreme circumstances, as in needing to save a life, or to protect himself from injury. He never hits a woman in anger, or a child, or an animal. 16. He is decent. He's not afraid to be vulnerable. He admits his mistakes. 17. There is a special grace and ease about a gentleman. He's humble, and knows he can always learn something.
